In conjunction with the National Rink
Hockey Championships in Bremerton, Washington, two teams will be selected.

Open
Men’s World Team – A ten member team will be selected to
participate in the Men’s “B” World Championships in Dornbirn,
Austria, October 23–30, 2010.

• Tryouts will begin on Saturday,
  July 10, at 8:30 PM. 12 floor players and three goalkeepers will
  be selected.
• The National Team will play
  some games in the World Class Division, for further player evaluation.
  
• The final cut to a ten member
  team will be on Friday, July 16 at 6:30 PM.
• Men’s and Ladies’ Team
  Training is scheduled to begin on Saturday, July 17 and conclude on
  Sunday, July 18 at 1:00 PM.

4. Use of USOC wreath:
   Richard has sent our request to the USOC to use their wreath on our
   “How to Start. . .” booklet, stationary and fax forms. We
   are waiting for their approval.

   to play several games against our Ladies, including games after our
   National Team and World Teams have been selected.

6. Pan American Championships have been postponed until probably
October. Exact dates and location, TBA. The Men’s Rink
Hockey Team will be included; the Ladies will not.

7. USARS Board Meeting, April 23^rd – 25^th.

a. Bill needs nominations for USARS Hall of Fame

8. RSA will hold their annual Conference April 25^th
-29^th. Exhibit dates will be April 27^th
– 28^th. Jim. J. will be coordinating our effort,
combined with USARS. Toby and Tom Hughes will be helping him.

9. South American Open International Tournament (formerly Copa
America) in Barcelona. We will not be sending a Men’s Team,
but hope to send a Ladies Team if we can receive substantial financial
assistance; we should know these details by early April. Daniel
V. will be the Coach since it will be close to Nationals and Frankie
needs to concentrate on that.

12. Rink Hockey pins for distribution at international tournaments:
now that the logo “issue” has been resolved, Jim J. will move forward
with this.

13: One-week international tournament in San Juan, Argentina in
December, 2010, for players ages 8 – 10: In 2009, 48 teams participated;
this tournament has been occurring for 10 years. A meeting will
be held at the beginning of Nationals for parents with interested players;
these players will be selected at Nationals if there is sufficient interest.

14. USARS has a new telephone system: Extension numbers
are: Ricci Porter, Media and PR, #14; Peggy Young, International
Events, #15; Ken Hobza, Financial Services, #18; Kevin Kmetz, Hockey
Athlete Memberships and Club Charters, #20; Michael Steib, Website and
Email Blasts, #21 and Richard Hawkins, Executive Director, # 22.

15. Brent Benson has been hired by USARS to “cover” Rink Hockey,
Inline Hockey, Marketing and Sales. His USARS extension is #13.

a Coaches’ Clinic

holding Clinics in the 3 major regions, not just at Nationals

4. “Let’s Play Hockey
Expo” in Las Vegas, January 25^th – 28^th.
Barb, Daniel and, hopefully, Bill will be attending, as well as Francesco
Rossi, 1^st VP of C.I.R.H. We will be meeting with George
Kolibaba the evening of January 26^th to give Francesco and
George the opportunity to meet for the first time and discuss USARS’
future plans for Rink Hockey.

5. Pan American Championships,
April 24^th – May 1^st: Chances are slim
that Rink Hockey will be included, but participating sports have not
been announced yet.

6. USARS Board Meeting,
April 23^rd -25^th
in Las Vegas. RSA will hold their annual Conference, April 25^th
– 29^th at the same location. Specific Exhibition
dates to be determined. We hope to have a booth. So far
Jim (Jost), Barb, Daniel, Cheri Lewis and Yvvonne Ashlock hope to be
staffing our booth, as well as a couple of players to demonstrate our
equipment. Others are welcome to help; please email Barb (bbbrooksao@aol.com) if you are interested. Toby
and Tom Hughes also expressed interest in helping.

The Committee
discussed the fact that there is no information currently on line for
this convention. Jim stated he would need to know by April if the booth
is a go. Barb and Jim will continue to seek information on the Convention.

7. South American Open
International Tournaments (formerly Copa America) – both Ladies’
and Men’s, will take place in Barcelona, Spain in June (no specific
dates have been determined). The U.S. will be sending both a Ladies’
and Men’s team.

Committee requested
that Barb ask what "incentives" can be acquired for attendance
of any U.S. teams to these types of international tournaments. Barb
will report back.

8. 2010 Ladies’ WC,
Alcobendas, Madrid, Spain, September 25^th – October 2^nd.

a.

10. Sanctioning of Tournaments
and the requirement of USARS membership cards. Bill

The Committee discussed
how to get rinks and players to purchase USARS membership cards.
There are still non-sanctioned tournaments being held where players
are not registered with USARS. In an attempt to increase Rink
Hockey membership, USARS has waived its sanctioning fee for all Rink
Hockey tournaments. In order for USARS benefits (athlete accident
insurance and venue liability insurance), all participants would have
to be USARS members. USARS hopes this will increase membership,
lower expenses for tournament directors and give the members the benefits
of the insurance, in addition to receiving the Magazine. By increasing
membership dollars, more money may be available in the future to assist
in the support of Rink Hockey programs, i.e., marketing and promotion,
assisting with World Team expenses and added benefits to members.
Due to insurance restrictions, USARS is not able to extend insurance
coverage to non-sanctioned tournaments or non-registered members.

11. Rink hockey pins

12. Barb emailed revised
Directories January 12^th to everyone who has an email address.
She included contact information for Cheri Lewis and Yvvonne Ashlock
who are in charge of fund-raising, sponsorship and grant opportunities.

   17^th Conference call were posted within 5 days of that Call.

3. Report on USARS
   Board Meeting, October 30^th – November 1^st.
   Bill
1. Proposed reorganization
   of each sport, i.e., resumes to apply for any position are due to USARS
   no later than February 28, 2010.
2. Potential position
   for Hockey Director for Inline and Rink Hockey

USARS will be changing the administrative structure for all sports.
Each position for all committees will need to be applied for via resumes.
Also, USARS is trying to hire someone to coordinate many aspects for
both Inline and Rink Hockey.

4. Approval of use
   of new CIRH Rules for Rink Hockey. Bill

Bill stated
that the rules were approved by USARS in 2010. There was further discussion
on this issue after Bill and Don had dropped off the Call. Pat, Frankie
and Jim would like to see the rules stay the same for this year’s
Nationals since the new rules do not take effect until the 2011 World
Championship. The 2010 Men’s "B" and Ladies’ World Championships
will be played under the old rules. It was suggested that we do some
training on the new rules first with the referees on a conference call,
then with coaches and referees on a call and lastly with a seminar held
at this years Nationals. Jim will call Bill on Monday to express Pat,
Frankie and his views on this. This will be discussed further during
the next Conference Call. [An update on this was posted on USARS’
and P.J.’s websites 12/22/09.]

   changed to South American Open International Tournaments, for Speed,
   Artistic and Inline Hockey, as well as Rink Hockey. Dates have
   not been announced yet. Barb
   These could be used as training camps for Ladies’ and Men's Teams.
   We need more information before deciding if this is a possibility.
   Players must be made aware of the fact that they could be asked to attend
   two major international events in 2010 so they can to plan ahead, both
   financially and scheduling of vacation time.
