Here is the flyer for the West Coast Classic of 2010: To find out more info: FYI: Pan Am Championships, April 24th – May 1st, 2010 in Puebla City, Mexico USARS will be notified soon about which sports will be included. This information will be posted as soon as it is received. Comité Internationale de Rink-Hockey Heroldstatt, 23.11.2009 Circular 36 /2009 Dear Sirs and friends; CIRH kindly asks the Federations to pre inscribe as soon as possible to guarantee a good organization of this event. With kindest regards
There is a nice little article at www.kitsapsun.com on Frankie Lee. I would love to see more of these articles highlighting the players (past and present) that are making a difference in our sport. Here is a link to the better copy of the updated rules: Rules Of The Game (Thanks to Nelson) This is something that everybody will definitely need to read through. There are some major changes that will need to be communicated multiple times because the rules are changing. To read about some of the changes, and read a discussion of those changes, you can go to: http://talkrollerhockey.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4949 (Thanks John. Appreciate the head’s up/info.) Here is my gripe of the day, and it’s one that I have had for years now yet it has never been resolved:
These are the two (? – why two?) logos that are used to represent our sport on the rollersports.teamusa.org website. I have no idea why, but maybe if more people complained about it, it would be fixed. Short and sweet, one player is holding a long stick and the other a rink hockey stick. Here is a link to the just released/updated Rules Of The Game Of Rink Hockey. I’m not to excited about the quality of the presentation, but it’s better than nothing. Hopefully I will find a higher quality version soon. Link to rollersports.teamusa.org where the PDF file can be found: UPDATE: the information below has yet to be confirmed by CIRH so it may or may not be correct. Additionally, the month of October is still speculation so do not take it as fact. The information that is listed below my comments can be found at http://fep.es/website/noticias.asp?any=2009&qui=noticia&idnoticia=4557&modalidad=14 Here is an official letter confirming the 2010 Woman’s Rink Hockey World Championships will be held in Spain, but no dates are established yet. People in the “know” feel it will be sometime in October. The letter was translated from Spanish to English so some of it might be “lost in translation”: Royal Spanish Federation Skating
Thanks for the info Nelson – www.mundook.net Minutes For Conference Call 10/17, 2009
2. Bill Sisson will give a report to the USARS Board at the October Meeting regarding the number of teams at Nationals and the success of our first Skill Development Clinic with 17 participants; this Clinic, and possibly others, will be held again the day before Nationals begin in 2010. 3. Jimmy has not been able to assemble a team to compete in the 2009 Men’s South American Club Championship in San Juan, Argentina, November 23rd through 28th, so the U.S. will not be participating in this invitational Tournament. 4. 2010 Nationals will be held Sunday, July 11th through Friday, July 16th in Bremerton, Washington. The address of the rink is: 1740 NE Fuson Rd., Bremerton, WA 98311. Meetings and Clinics will be held on Saturday, July 10th. Officials will be named at the February USARS Board Meeting. A “sign-up sheet” for “Tryouts” for both the Men’s and Ladies’ World Teams will be posted at the beginning of Nationals. Final selection and announcement of both Teams will be on either Friday, July 16th or Saturday, July 17th, depending on how many teams register to play at Nationals. 5. The new rules have not been officially approved by the CIRH, but will be and will be posted to the official web site in November. There are variations of the rules currently being proposed by several different countries. For the best explanation on the new rules, go to, http://cerh.eu/en/ . 6. All other topics listed in the Agenda will be discussed during the next Conference Call on November 14th at 12:00 noon, EST. Submitted by, Jim Jost Here’s the official poster for the 2009 Mexico Friendship Tournament:
As you can see, the US will be represented by two teams: Rebels I and Rebels II. Good luck guys and have fun. |
