4. Fund Raising help! As we discussed briefly in our last Conference Call, I contacted Cheri Lewis and Yvvonne Ashlock and they have consented to be in charge of fund-raising efforts for our sport. They are very enthusiastic about this endeavor and feel honored to be asked to work on it; they are anxious to get started! 5. USARS Magazine: Split cover and articles for the Ladies and Men’s WCs
6. Accepting P.J. Mueller’s resignation from the Rink Hockey Committee for family reasons.
7. Men’s “A” WC – July 4th – 11th, Vigo/Ponteverda, Spain
a. January 29th – February 1st (Super Bowl Sunday!) – Mandatory Selection Camp for anyone trying out for the Men’s World Team, optional for Sub-20/Juniors
1. Which Committee Members can attend?
2. Group rates have been arranged at Country Inn and Suites (where we stayed last time), $75 for a double/Queen and $79 for a King Executive, Call 1-800-908-0311 and ask for the Rink Hockey room block. Important: the deadline for getting these group rates is January 15th. Two singles and 10 doubles have been reserved.
b. 2nd Training Camp – Hopefully, Montreux (4/30-5/3) or Regional Camps
c. Opportunity to train the week before the WC in Spain?
d. Leaving from Nationals, Dallas/Ft. Worth on Sunday, June 28th or Monday, June 29th? Group rates between Dallas/Ft. Worth and Spain
8. 2009 Sub-20/Junior WC in September or October in Follonica, Italy
a. The World Team will be selected June 26th or 27th at the end of Nationals
9. Dates for Ladies Copa America Tournament, Colombia, possibly one of last two weeks in July
10. Possibility of preliminary Pan American trails participation by both Men and Ladies teams this summer. Dates and participation of Rink Hockey unknown, but Bill and I are working on getting this information.
11. Next Conference Call: Saturday, February 21st, 1:00 E.S.T. ok with everyone?
