An informal discussion may precede the start of this Meeting.
1.Treasurer’s Report: Jim J.
2.Minutes of the July 5th Meeting at Nationals
3.Nationals
a.Did the Regional Meetings take place? Are there any Minutes from these Meetings? Are there any changes in officers for these Regions?
b.Future locations for Nationals
4.2nd International Club Tournament in Reus, Spain, September 22nd – 28th
5.2008 Ladies’ WC in Yuri Honjou (Akita) Japan, October 5th – 11th update. Team departs on Monday, September 29th and returns Sunday, October 12th
6.2008 Men’s “B” WC in Johannesburg, South Africa, October 25th – November 1st. Team leaves on Monday October 20th and returns on Monday, November 3rd
7.Discussion of changes that need to be made in planning schedules for future WCs
a.Pay closer attention to timing of Training Camps to avoid traditionally held tournaments and so that Committee Members can attend for ranking purposes.
b.Giving extra special thought to time schedule preceding WCs pre-established by the Committee so that we can stick to that schedule instead of having to change things because someone complains.
c.Discussion of selecting Team six months in advance
d.Setting deadline for players to commit to participating
e.Managers and other staff review various duties listed by Peggy so that next WC preparations go more smoothly
f.Revise list of Manager’s responsibilities now that we have taken Peggy up on her offer to do for Hardball Hockey what she has been doing for years for Artistic and Speed
g.All players and Alternates selected for World Team MUST complete information packets at meeting following final Training Camp/Team selection and return them to the Manager before leaving the meeting, including roommate request forms.
h.A discussion regarding the scheduling of two major tournaments so close together will most probably take place at the CIRH Congress in Japan; that question has been raised.
8.2009 Sub-20 WC in September or October in Follonica, Italy
9.2009 Men’s “A” WC in Spain in July.
10.Any topics that should be addressed at the next USARS Board Meeting in Peoria, IL, October 17th – 19th?
11.Next Conference Call: Saturday, November 15th or Sunday, the 16th at 1:00 p.m. EST. Barb has a potential conflict on Saturday, the 15th.
